Goizeko

Goizeko is a Basque cuisine restaurant located in Fronton Mexico City, a historic heritage building. The concept is based on the reinterpretation of the usage of the open space within the existing building. The composition of its element’s approaches art deco characteristics, the style of the building that houses the project.

The restaurant has a bar made up of transparent wine cellars and a VIP area.

Polished and rough marble, as well as white brick are the chosen materials, inspired by traditional Basque architecture. The ceiling is an irregular grid of wood that is supported by a steel structure.

Goizeko’s design was created to reflect the central philosophy of its executive chef: “The art of cooking is not about transforming the raw material, but about making the best of it”
